A little bit more information...

The face masks we make are non-medical face masks for personal use only. Our face masks are made from 100% organic cotton, and we have used two layers of colourful fabric on the outside, plus an additional thin layer sewn into the centre for additional protection on most of our masks. We have created a slimline design so that they fit better and are more comfortable to wear than many masks. The straps are adjustable to help you achieve the best fit for your face shape. The face masks can be washed at high temperatures (60 Degrees Celsius) and this should be done regularly, ideally after every use.

 

The WHO has updated their guidance and is now recommending fabric face masks for the public. The use of face coverings has been made mandatory on all public transport in England from 15th June 2020. Although there are no guarantees, the general consensus is that wearing face coverings will help us from spreading the virus, especially in crowded environments where social distancing cannot be adhered to.

New studies have shown, that wearing a mask can heighten your sense of doing things differently and help you remember to wash your hands regularly/ not touch your face as much and keep a safe distance from others, because the mask is a constant reminder of the unusual times we are in. Studies have also suggested that SARS-CoV2 is more contagious through the air and hangs in the air for longer periods of time than initially thought. Experiments have shown how many fluid droplets you can expel when simply talking. Wearing a face covering is mainly to protect others from you in case you are infected and don’t know it. A face covering may catch fluid droplets coming from your nose and mouth that can carry the virus.
