I think being a parent is one of the most fascinating and rewarding ‘roles’ I have ever had. I love what I get to learn, about myself, my husband, and my children. It is also by far the hardest thing I have ever done and can be exhausting, exhilarating and aggravating, all at once, as fellow parents will testify.
A close second in terms of pushing me way outside of my comfort zone and testing my limits over and over again, is setting up my own product based business. Setting up MummyMadeThis – and creating our PlayTableCloths and DoodleCloths, has ranged from exhilarating to terrifying -–sometimes all in one day ;-).
We’ve come a long way since I first set up my website in early 2020, during lockdown. And this month we are celebrating a major milestone: WE ARE LIVE ON AMAZON!!
I wanted to thank all of you who have supported me on my journey so far, the team behind me who has made this happen, my lovely husband and children for moving between support and ‘tough love’ to help get me to where I am today... and all of you lovely individuals who have supported me by joining my community, reading my blogs, buying from me already, supporting my Crowdfunding, or following and engaging with me on Instagram or Facebook.

I have found the DoodleCloth is perfect for ages 3 upwards – the children can colour in the designs – whether that’s the more abstract ‘Splat’ or our Underwater Seascape or Castles design. Using the special washable pens, means that after play is done, you just put the DoodleCloth in a warm wash, so it can be used over and over again – which is not only good for the environment, but much more cost effective than going through reams of colouring sheets (like my lot used to!).
As the weather has improved, we’ve loved taking the DoodleCloth with us when we are out and about, too, as it doubles up as a blanket for the kids to sit on in the grass and then play and colour in. Or if you are in a restaurant or pub, it can be easily put on the table as well. It’s really light and quick and easy to take with you. We have a special amazon deal on at the moment as well, selling at £19.99 (rather than the normal £25), so if you do want to buy a DoodleCloth, be sure to do so via amazon :-)
The PlayTableCloth is particularly great for younger children (1-8) – they love role playing with the village shop and cottage, ‘posting’ letters into the post box or ‘buying’ tickets at the ticket office. My children also have lots of fun playing on the tabletop – whether that is one of the boardgames like Ludo or Bingo, a game of table tennis, or racing cars around on the race tracks. You can buy special washable pens so that the children can draw in the picture frames or customize the notice boards and street signs in the village shop. And then you simply wash the PlayTableCloth in a normal warm wash again, and play starts all over again. The standard sizes (that are available on amazon) are also much more cost effective than the made to measure versions - and are available for £69.99 (rather than the standard £135).
